Too bad it's not a 96. My dad is looking for one gently used and at a decent price to replace the one he's been carrying since the early 90s.

Take a look at CDNN's catalog. They had police trade-in 96's for $299 used and $399 unissued a while back. The ones I saw were in very good shape. ;)

I may hafta try that--thanks for the info. The only part that spooks me about that is that I'd rather deal with an LEO or licensed dealer. I know here if someone snags it they're verified...not sure about that Beretta site.

But thanks, I'll probably give it a whirl.
