I'm not sure, but I may be heading to Ft. Custer for a little mountain biking next Thursday & Friday (June 12th-13th). It's not locked in yet, but if there are any bikers in the area, I'd be happy to meet you on the trails. Yeah, I know it's during the week, but I didn't feel like burning Father's Day weekend and I hardly wanted to wait any longer to hit the trails.

Of course, for you non-bikers in the Battle Creek area, I would be happy to meet up for a beer in the evening. :)

I should know if I will be able to make it for sure this weekend.

Ft. Custer is very beautiful. My grandparents were married there. :)

I can say that the trails rock! I have ridden there quite a bit. The little lake they have is decent for a nice swim too.

Thats in Augusta isn't it? Fort Custer Recreation Area?

My brother just got back from over there 3 weeks ago.

I should check it out. Must be something good about the place, everyone talks about it

There are great trails there. Like I said, I have been there several times. I hear Yankee Springs is nice too (just 30 min away).

...and yes, Hockey, it is Augusta. Usually, when I stay out there, I go to Battle Creek. There are better hotels and places to eat/drink.

I just moved back to MI this past March. I haven't had a chance to make it out to the west end of the state for riding yet. Now with being on mids, I'm riding pretty close to home... either right after work or grab my gear and go as soon as I get up.

Course this past weekend's weather made the trails sloppy. :( Felt like a freakin monsoon ripped through here Friday night. Then today right as a couple of us were finishing the Milford trail (about .5 mile left) the skies opened up and dumped on us. Just as we got packed up the tornado sirens went off.

Switch,
Would love to meet up for a mtb ride, but I'll be getting outta work at 0700 Thursday morning; and after the week I've already had ...ending up in the ER on morphine due to a migraine and still tryin to work the other 4 drugs they pumped into me outta my system. I doubt I'd be worth a hoot. :(
