So, are there any other people here excited about this movie?
I can not wait.
Any pre-release predictions?
Good
Bad?

Call me a pessimist but I think the entertainment industry is running out of ideas.
Lucas had his time in the industry, got his name all over on pretty much every other University hall in the US and now he wants more money.
And just like everything else these days which is pretty much a copy of another copy of something else,
I expect this to be a top-of-the-line *reheated* version of the originals under a different title

I have plans to see it on opening day.

Ditto. Dr. Jones is the shiz-nite!
I'll see it when it comes out on DVD. I dislike the theater " experience " , plus they won't pause the movie for a potty break :)

I'll probably see it in theaters too. Unfortunately, I can't help but think this film will be disappointing.

My two kids (who weren't even alive when the previous three Indiana Jone movies were made) are driving us certifiably crazy over the new Indiana Jones movie. Let's face it, it's a great time.
We get the same affect from our kids when the words "Star Wars" are mentioned.

I'm sure it will be a good movie despite Shia Labeouf being in it. I enjoyed watching The Greatest Game Ever Played.

I have been waiting almost 20 years for this film. I was an Indiana Jones nut since I was born.
I just bought my tickets to see it 11:59 P.M the day before it comes out.
I can't wait.

LOL....mine too.
When they released the SW trilogy in theaters...oh, 10 years ago, my son and I made a promise (he was 7 at the time) to skip school to be the first ones to see the new trilogy in the theatre.
A great tradition...even though I advocated skipping school....:p

I just got back from seeing it and it was great.
It was not as good as the 1st three but it is like comparing apples and oranges.
The movie takes place in 1957 so if you're expecting a 30's serial like the 1st three, be disapointed, it has the feel of a 1950's scifi flick while throwing in some adventure.
Ford and LeBouf's characters have great banter, the "tarzan" scene was ridiculous and the film didn't give you enough time to hate the enemy.
The film is good, go see it, I'm glad Indy is back, finally none of that walking fast with cell phones garbage that hollywood keeps spitting out.

I liked it, but I think they really over-hyped it. It wasn't on par with the original trilogy IMO.

Exactly what I'm reading from local reviewers.

Normally I don't believe a word those people say, but in this case they're right. I was left thinking "19 years since the last movie and this is the best idea you came up with?"

Going to see it tonight with the wife (in just a couple hours!)! :D
Oldest daughter might not know it yet, but she's babysitting the two younger kids while we go see it! LOL :p
Some may disagree, but I HATED this movie. Indiana Jones movies are supposed to be action/adventure, not science fiction. For those who haven't seen it, I won't spoil the plot, but this movie was crap. George Lucas is bat-sh*t crazy these days, and seems bent on ruining the genius he had decades ago with every franchise he created.

The original Indy movies took place in the 30's, and were based upon the pulp popular in that era. Adventure stories, supernatural, etc. The new one took place in the 1950's, when the pulp was more focused on sci-fi, communism, and of course the nuclear scare.
While the very last two reveals (you know what I'm talking about) ALMOST ruined it for me, I managed to take it in stride. There were some moments (refrigerators, anyone?) that made me cringe, but overall I enjoyed it. There are a lot of changes I would have made, but as it wasn't mine to change, I enjoyed what I was given.

I saw this movie yesterday and while it was entertaining it was not nearly as good as the first 3. It was kind of like what happened to Star Wars. Great special effects but the story sucked.

Sadly, I'd agree with that completely.

We enjoyed it..certainly not the best of the 3, but we did like it. I am learning to DETEST CGI....the movies where so much better without all the computer animation.
Anyone catch the Star Wars reference;
"I got a bad feeling about this"?
Yes, the movie was a bit campy, but again, it was a good night out with the family.
I can't wait for that new Will Smith movie...THAT one looks like it is going to be the hit of the summer.
