I am a Police Officer with the Hazleton Police Departmet in PA.
Several Officer's and I have begun trying to collect artifacts from my Department's past to display in our FOP room. We have had some success but I am still hunting.
The department has absolutely no records or artifacts of it's past. We have been able to trace the origin of the department to somewhere between 1851 and 1891.
The major hurdle we are facing is that most of the children and grandchildren of deceased Officers have moved from the area. (Coal mining is no longer a major source of employment in the area)
I was hoping someone here could help point me in the right direction to chase down some old patches, badges, pictures, anything.
Thanks in advance,
Anthony
