Minimum Education Required: Possession of a high school diploma or a GED Certificate.

Minimum Experience Required: No specific amount of experience is required at the entry level.

Other Job Requirements: Civil Service Rule 2-7 requires that all newly hired state employees submit to and pass a pre-employment drug test prior to their actual appointment.

All Recruit applicants must:

* Be a United States citizen.
* Be at least 21 years of age.
* Become a resident of the State of Michigan by completion of the Field Training Officer process.
* Possess a valid Michigan driver's license.
* Possess a satisfactory driving record.

1st post here hello fella's and gals... and supporting member :) I'm going for this CO job in Mich I took the MCOLES test at the Detroit Police Academy passed.Spoke with Lansing monday of this week and I am applicant #120 and will be taking the Civil Test this August 3rd or 4th week so I am guessing. I have hunted and fished my whole life in Michigan so why not protect and preserve what I love doing and will have my kids following in my foot steps. with that said is there anything I can do to prep myself for the Michigan Department of Civil Service Entry Level Law Enforcement exam #2002/...thanks in advance

:eek:I guess DNR means something different than what I thought at first look :eek::eek::eek:

You should go for it!!! It is extremely difficult to get on as a Fish and Game Officer (our equivalent), and they go to the same academy as all other law enforcement officers here. Many people would be very jealous of you, give it a shot!

Just know your stuff. Its very difficult, but a very rewarding position. Not many people do it, and thats what makes it better I believe. Just gotta put up with the states BS and you'll be alright ;)

My dad was a Conservation Officer for years, he left MSP and went DNR and loved it! Good luck, I hope you get it.

UPDATE:
Made a few calls and I will going for a ride along next thursday or friday.Cant get better first hand exp then this!!..Ok this may be a dumb question what should I wear? :confused:

Wear something nice. A polo shirt, button up shirt, nice pair of dark khakis or something. If you're riding at night, don't wear anything too brightly color. Thats just from my background...
