After reading that and checking out the website, I have come to the conclusion that I work for the wrong agency. lol. I'm sure cost of living is higher there, but their dispatchers make 13-15 dollars an hour more than we do at my agency, plus more perks like uniforms and 401k. That is impressive no matter how you slice it.

Hey, I was born at the Humana Hospital in Anchorage. I'd really be open to the idea of moving back. It'd definitely be a switch though. :P

ahhh I've never been so I shouldn't talk. If you're familiar with it I guess it'd be worth it for you. :)

Well, we moved down to VA when I was about 3 1/2, so really I don't remember much. :P But I'm still from there dangit! I've always wanted to go back, but the cost for travel, esp to AK is so high it's prohibitive. I'd love to go back and see the house I started to grow up in.

Hey, I saw 30 Days Of Night!

If I were single and could lateral in at the seniority (time on) I have now, whoa! I would be very tempted to move up there! :)

Sounds like a great place to work. I might consider it if all my other options don't work out.

AAAWWWW, come on guys! Ya'll are big tough guys, you can handle it! It's really no different than living in the upper midwest....and you'll get used to it. Besides, where else can you catch a 50lb fish downtown? :)
