Thank you for sharing your experience and your concerns regarding Sheriff Victor Hill of Clayton County. I appreciate your concerns.
Under the Georgia Constitution, however, sheriffs are independent elected officers not subject to the control of the Governor. If you believe that your sheriff has engaged in criminal conduct, you may wish to discuss the situation with one or more of the following: your District Attorney, Superior Court judge, the Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Council (P.O.S.T.), or the Georgia Sheriffs' Association.
