I really want to be...

I'd LOVE to move to Europe... well, let me correct that to say I'd move to what I call Europe, Ireland, Scotland and England... Sorry the rest of you but those are my "big three" :D Well, maybe Wales too... MAYBE :)

The wife has this whole hangup on moving over there permanantly because she feels some sort of obligation to the U.S. I told her that maybe we could become spies for MI6 and just live here part of the time :p .... she won't go for it so I guess we'll just have to visit every couple years!

So pretty much the only part of Europe you want to live in is the UK?

England, Scotland, and Wales make up what is called Great Britain. :p

Well, when you move, you can send me all of your guns, and I'll keep them nice and safe. Won't even charge you anything for it.. :D

Well, I just like the UK, what can I say. Actually I've never been any other places over there so I imagine if I can get my wife to go back to any of the other countries I'd probably love them too :)

Mainly I like the UK because they talk normal.... well at least understandable. When Germany and France and the rest of them start speaking English like God intended then I'll start visiting :D

I should qualify that comment to say that in all fairness it did take me about a day or two before I could actually understand what the heck people were saying in Edinburgh. It only took about two hours before I could understand thedoghandler.

All of my ancestors are from the UK and Germany. We have our own tartan and a castle in Scotland :)

Maybe someday I'll drop by for a visit.

Glasgow was ok but I definately liked Edinburgh! We also visited Dundee wich was fun. I think next trip we are hoping to take a couple weeks and go see Eugene then maybe the Highlands then down to see you and maybe do a week in London with a couple day trips outside the city.

I should add that hopefully this time you'll actually be able to say hi. Seems last time we were going to see you and Jim but you were all busy with your job and stuff. I guess some people have the impression that their lifes are more important than meeting Chewy! :p

Bill, if you want I can give you a heads up when chewy heads over so you can be "working" again.:D

Someday I hope to make it back to Europe. I want to check out where I lived in Germany and check out England again. The only problem is the better half doesn't like to fly so I may have to go it alone.

If you hit the City of Cologne, just LMK. I show you the cathedral (you can see it from the bars and pubs window) and how to drink german beer:D

The daughter is in Liverpool as I type and yes, it's lovely & green but sheesh, of course it helps that it rains ALL the time!!!

She can't wait to get across to Europe . . . oh, and drink some German beer!!!

We intend on going to Ireland sometime before I retire and I'd like to visit a few e-buddies in Kent.

But it's 24+ hours to fly there!!! :(

British born/bred here, but emigrated to the US after marrying my US Citizen wife (took nearly a year for the Green Card to come through!).

In some ways we'd love to move back, as we really miss the historical stuff, the quiet country life, pubs, etc...but we sure as hell don't miss the taxes, gun control, and prices! (The Exchange rate did help a lot when we moved though!).

As it is, we're going to see how things go here in the US first - our dream would be to get a posting back to England through the USAF (which I am considering going into in the future, but initially it's going to be the USCG). I'm also going to look at the possibility of applying for one of the other US Government jobs abroad through Embassys etc.

I'm here

Hi Bill...have you heard of the village Great Bowden? It's in the civil parish of the Harborough district of Leicestershire. I've never been there, but since my surname is Bowden I'm an honorary member of the Great Bowden society.
I figured the whole village would be Bowdens, but I'm the only one in the group.
I've never been to the British Isles and some day would love to spend a summer vacation in England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland.
The only 2 places I've always wanted to visit is the British Isles and New Zealand.
