Hey guys,
Another one jumps in the water. Yard full of Spanish Moss guarantees that you must live in the South. Having a 'gator in a 2 acre pond guarantees you must be in Florida or Louisiana. Have a cast-iron stomach, know how to make real seafood gumbo from scratch, and seeing blue lights makes you wonder what light bar is on the car ---- and ask if anyone is using the Genesis II radar ---- Yep, you must be associated with the law and live in the great state of Louisiana.
Hey to all you other folks who understand 100 degrees and 100% humidity just means a normal day on the roads of Louisiana. N'est pas?:p
Take care and stay safe

Hey, Reddman.
Yup, sounds like Lousyana, alright. Specially the 100/100.
And as for the gumbo, it doesn't matter what time of the year, it's always gooood. In fact, that's what I'm cooking tomorrow. Dayum, I can taste it already.http://bestsmileys.com/cooking/10.gif

As much as I thought I was used to heat and humidity, I 'bout DIED when I stepped off that airplane at Cherry Point a buncha years ago. I went through three uniforms the first day I was at Camp LeJeune. Of course that was right after several months temporary duty at Bridgeport CA (that's in the Sierra Nevada mountains). NEVER even broke a sweat up there. I eventually learned to tolerate the heat again. Never LIKED it though.

My friend, you don't have a clue. She picks on me like I'm a red-headed stepchild.
Guess that puts both of us near the top of her "list".
Of course, I can think of worse lists to be on.
At least we know she loves us.

Okay....Okay I got the message in more ways than one! I just get busy at work trying to keep a bunch of misfits in line and I got 47 of them. Cris this one is for you! One post down and hopefully I can do another before the night is over. Playing catch up for the 7 days I've been off. Cajuns be safe and enjoy that gumbo!! I sure do miss it and will have to get the wife to make some more since I have a house full of guests thanks to the hurricane.

lol about time
Well thank God, Gustav downgraded before it hit you guys. Not that a cat 2, even low grade, isn't dangerous but it's a heck of a lot better than a 4! Glad you all are safe.
Looks like it's our turn next with Hannah. *sigh* I hope she stays below a 2 if she does come ashore here.

Happy to hear you made it OK, Angel.
I've been cleaning the yard all day, thanks to that b**tard Gustave.
Got your e-mail. I'll reply when I have a little more time.
Getting ready to go to work - - AGAIN! (Gotta love the overtime, though.) (I guess.)

Glad all is well with the hurricanes....had a house full of folks from back home and if another one comes from the way folks have been calling the count will double or triple. I just may sleep at work...got to have some peace and quiet. Cris glad all is well with you...keeping the fingers crossed tha Ike does not come this way.
Cajunguy...I know how you feel as I did not get a chance to clean the yard yet. Will have to wait till my days off. Keep the back medicine handy.

I don't envy you, Dear. I finished my yard yesterday, then went next door to give my elderly neighbor a hand.
Between my pile of branches and his, you could hide your Durango under it, and not have a clue it's there.
Needless to say, I need a week of vacation to recuperate. Yeah, like THAT will happen if Ike comes this way.
GO AWAY, IKE!!! I don't need to do this crapola two weekends in a row.
Take care.

I'm alive and kickin', at least. The eye of the storm passed over us...but amazingly we sustained very little damage.
I think we may have lost a couple of small trees, but nothing that will keep us from surviving. The strangest thing is that we were only without power about 16 hours. We were lucky.
