In the cricket last night, a streaker decided to do a nudie run across the pitch.
Police and security were on their way to intercept until he ran a little too close to Andrew Symonds (not the smallest guy in the world).
A naked man ran from the stands towards the pitch where Symonds was standing during the 10th over of Australia's run-chase, and the burly batsman moved to his right and connected with a rugby-league-style shoulder charge that left the streaker flat on his back.
Security officials converged on the prone spectator and led him away.

BRISBANE (AP): Australia allrounder Andrew Symonds will likely escape any sanction for pummeling a nude streaker with a shoulder charge during a limited-overs international against India.
The streaker was not so lucky. Not only was he flattened by Symonds on the pitch, he was fined 1,500 Australian dollars (US$1,390; euro914) when he faced court Wednesday, the following morning, on charges of wilful exposure and interfering with a sports event.
Robert Ogilvie, 26, pleaded guilty, saying he was dared to run on the field naked by his friends and it felt ``great'' to be crunched by Symonds.
Replays of the rugby-style shoulder charge were shown repeatedly on Australian TV on Wednesday, featured on Youtube, and pictures appeared on newspaper pages and Web sites.

Sorry, but I don't think something like that is funny.
He's pretty disturbed if you ask me.

I guess I should explain something about cricket.
Lets face it. It is a boring game. Nothing can happen for hours.
This particular game was a shorter version of the long game and is a bit more exciting, but it is a cultural thing to go and get really drunk at the cricket with your mates and act like a total tool!!
For years it has been the "tradition" for streakers to run across the field (usually very drunk). In the past there has been a female stripper that did it with her work place written on her back (they paid her fine and wrote it off as advertising:eek:)
About one or two times a year, someone will streak at the cricket. Sometimes it is the only exciting part of the day. Other times they will do something stupid like run around in a huge Superman suit and then try to run away from security. But one thing is for sure. They are always drunk!!!
This clown thought he would have a bit of a laugh and was dared by his mates. He did not expect SYMONDS to smack him to the ground like a rag doll.
He has been on the news tonight saying he was stupid and that he had been drinking and he certaily did not hold any grudge against SYMONDS for knocking him to the ground and was not even considering "sueing" him for damages - the media jumped on that straight away despite IMHO SYMONDS would have got off any cahrges of assault or any law suit. Based on the common law power to use reasonable force to apprehend an offender (which is what he did IMHO) he would have had nothing to worry about. Had he hit him in the head with his bat...welll that could have been a bit different.

I see, thank you for explaining.:)
I guess I'll just say it's a "rare" individual who can get out there and expose themselves, and then turn around and want to sue a cricket player for being surprised by his behaviour.

Luckily it was the early 90's, before mobile phone cameras and Youtube.
An Army base, a lot of booze and a nudie run dare that I could not turn down. :o :D
One hot lap of the accommodation block. Three of us running around with our lilly white a$$es draggin behind us.
Gave a few of the girls something to talk about! :D

If you have, you would best discuss it with your therapist.
(Coz if you have, you would be seeing a therapist) :D
