Good evening officer's and friends
My situation is that 18yrs ago, i picked up a Petty Theft charge in Albany NY.......now all this time later, i'm leaning towards becoming an officer in Baltimore. i've been realitively clean at this point....only two minor traffic violations since then. And since i live in the baltimore/washington dc area and have always had an "itch" to become an law enforcement officer of one type or another (as well as being "egged on" by my 2 best friends who are on the NYPD as a sargent and D.I.) and seeing how baltimore do not have a age limit...per se., (i'm 41yrs old) i'm going to give it a try.
my question is: will this petty theft charge be a serious drag on my app.....
i'm sure every situation is different but i was hoping for an answer from someone that has experience in this matter and can give some advise to me. I'm really serious about doing this....it would be good for me as well as my family to see "daddy " do well.
thank you for your time
