State trooper killed in I-40 crash in Crawford County

A state trooper has died from injuries from a traffic crash with a tractor-trailer on Interstate 40 in Crawford County.
Arkansas State Police Highway Patrol Sergeant Richard C. LeBow, 51, of Ozark died in the crash near Mulberry, according to a release by the state Police.
Traffic on the highway was stopped as firefighters worked to put out a fire at the accident scene.
LeBow was traveling West on Interstate 40 in his patrol car when he crossed the median and collided with a tractor-trailer, which was traveling east, according to preliminary reports by the state police.
The driver of the truck was taken to a hospital in Fort Smith
The wreck is being investigated by the Highway Patrol Division and the Criminal Investigation Division of the State Police.
LeBow was married and had two sons. He had been with the Arkansas State Police for 27 years.
According to the State Police, LeBow is the 19th Trooper to die in the line of duty in the division's 73 year history
