Don't be so sure. The Giants are 9-1 on the road and just took out the top team in the NFC. They also took New England to the brink, scoring 35 points against their D. Green Bay has been over hyped all year......standby for upset!

Don't be so sure. The Giants are 9-1 on the road and just took out the top team in the NFC.The Packers are 8-1 at home this year.

The only difference between 9-1 and 8-1 is the Packers earned their way to a #2 seed and a bye. The Giants HAD to play another game.

So what's your point again?

Green Bay has been over hyped all year......standby for upset!Overhyped?

Uhh ... last time I checked, the Green Bay Packers were hosting the NFC Conference title game.

Sorry, but I don't call that "overhyped".

Overhyped is when people say you are good, but you fail to deliver.

Overhyped would describe the Cowboys, not the Packers.

My point is that it's tougher to pull of your victories on the road in unfamiliar territory. Yes, the Giants HAD to play another game, on the road, as the underdogs, and won....just like the upcoming week :D

You mean like Dallas this week....Green Bay NEXT week!
It's ok, I'll let you cheer for the Giants in the Super Bowl vs. the Pats.

My Prediction: Giants 27 Packers 24

My point is that it's tougher to pull of your victories on the road in unfamiliar territory.OK, not that stats mean anything, but lets take a good look at NYG's "tough" road games (and then some):

Sun 9/9 at Dallas L 35-45
Sun 9/23 at Washington W 24-17
Mon 10/15 at Atlanta W 31-10
Sun 10/28 at Miami W 13-10
Sun 11/18 at Detroit W 16-10
Sun 12/2 at Chicago W 21-16
Sun 12/9 at Philadelphia W 16-13
Sun 12/23 at Buffalo W 38-21
Sat 1/6 at Tampa Bay W 24-14
Sun 1/12 at Dallas W 21-17

Final Records for those teams:
Washington: Finished 9-7
Atlanta: Finished 4-12
Miama: Finished 1-15
Detroit: Finished 7-9
Chicago: Finished 7-9
Philly: Finished 8-8
Buffalo: Finished 7-9
Tampa: Finished 9-7

The only team NYG played on the road that won at least 10 games was Dallas (13-3), played them three times, and lost twice.

The Giants beat the 5-9 Buffalo Bills to earn their wild card spot. Oooh.
Then they beat the 9-7 Tampa Bay Bucs. Again ... Oooooh.

And everybody who watched the NYG/DAL game yesterday knows that the only difference between GNB/DAL instead of GNB/NYG was one more Dallas completion.

During the entire season AND playoffs, NYG played five games against teams that ultimately finished with at least 10 games during the regular season (@Dallas, Green Bay, Dallas, New England, and @Dallas), and the Giants lost every one of them but yesterday's game at Dallas.

OTOH, Green Bay played four teams that finished with at least 10 wins (@NYG, San Diego, @Dallas, Seattle), and won 3 of 4. The loss to Dallas was largely due to being without a number of big, key starters (Woodson, Gbaja-Biamila, Franks) and having Favre knocked out of the game with the injury to his arm just 5 minutes into the 2nd quarter.

Green Bay not only sealed their division and bye WEEKS before the end of the season, but the spotted the Seahawks 14 points and STILL beat the crap out of them 42-6 after the first 3:56 minutes. Not by one INT at the end of the game. 42-6.

Sure, the Giants played a good game in Dallas, but as I've said all along, Dallas was overhyped.

My Prediction: Giants 27 Packers 24My prediction: Eli will be joining his big brother for a big, ole bucket of popcorn and a box of Kleenex tissues on the living room couch come February 3rd ...

Yea it's true that the Giants played some weaker teams and lost to Dallas twice. Bottom line is Dallas was considered the top dog in the NFC and they beat them when it counted. If your gonna pull your b.s about winning the game "by one INT at the end of the game" then I'm saying that the Pats only beat the Giants due to some "questionable" calls at the end of the game.

Funny how you'll call Dallas "overhyped" and then make a dozen excuses why GB couldn't beat them. NY played injured all year too...Shockey's done for, Plaxico hasn't been able to practice all season, Jacobs has been hurt, Eli was playing with a bruised shoulder for awhile.....and I won't even talk about the secondary.
Still getting it done lately though.

Standby for upset bro!!!! :D

Yea it's true that the Giants played some weaker teams and lost to Dallas twice. Bottom line is Dallas was considered the top dog in the NFC and they beat them when it counted.I agree: NYG beat an overhyped team.

You're supporting my point - Dallas WAS overhyped, because they weren't up to what the media had labeled them.

If your gonna pull your b.s about winning the game "by one INT at the end of the game" then I'm saying that the Pats only beat the Giants due to some "questionable" calls at the end of the game.I agree. I never defended the Pats, nor jumped on their bandwagon (which appears to be what you think I've said).

I think the Pats managed to win a number of games that they should have lost. Yes, they are good, but luck (and a few questionable calls, especially in game against the Ravens) helped them through the few games that were close, and playing GOOD BALL won the bulk of their games.

Funny how you'll call Dallas "overhyped" and then make a dozen excuses why GB couldn't beat them.First, I didn't say that Dallas SUCKED or that they couldn't play. They were OVERhyped, but they were still a decent team.

Second, what I said weren't excuses; they were facts. GB had four absolutely KEY starters out. Take four KEY starters out for any team, and you'd be hard pressed to win much of anything against a reasonably good team.

Let's put it into perspective:

Take Manning, Strahan, Umenyiora, and Toomer out of the game that NYG just won. Do you think the Giants would have had a snowball's chance in hell of winning without four KEY starters? No way, man. No way.

NY played injured all year too...Shockey's done for, Plaxico hasn't been able to practice all season, Jacobs has been hurt, Eli was playing with a bruised shoulder for awhile.....and I won't even talk about the secondary.
Still getting it done lately though.Again, I repeat what I already posted: The "9-1" road streak you keep pounding your chest about only included ONE SINGLE TEAM that finished with 10 or more wins - Dallas. They played them three times, and the Giants lost TWICE. Hardly a "tough" collection of road victories, my friend.

Standby for upset bro!!!! :DThe only upset happening this weekend will be when Eli goes looking for his Momma, but can't find her because she's already busy consoling her OTHER loser son ... :)

Alright ladies, lets stop the bickering. Maybe we can agree that based on their talent, NY are underachievers... they have the talent to be the top team in the NFC. GB, on the other hand, are over achievers. With the exception of Favre and a handful of "name" players, they are a bunch of unknowns who have done a hell of a lot more than people would have thought.

But here's my predictions:

NE over SD 31-24
GB over NY 27-24

Alright ladies, lets stop the bickering. When you learn the difference between bickering and debating, feel free to come back and apply for a Moderator position. ;)

In case you missed it, stewie and I are yanking each other's chains (even if I'm using more facts and he's using more opinions).

We all know that one can never predict (with 100% certainty) what will happen in a football game (even though my pick record is pretty damn good).

We all know that GB could beat NYG, and NYG could beat GB (although the latter is HIGHLY UNLIKELY ... ).

But that doesn't mean we can't razz on each other or compare the season's run-up to the game until Sunday proves one of us (stewie) wrong ...

From the Dictionary of Stewie..."Overhyped"- Adj, Descriptive terminology used at random and inappropriate times to fire up RO56. :D

That was probably the best game that I've seen in years. It truly amazed me that both teams played in those frozen tundra conditions and almost seemed unaffected by it.

I hope Favre comes back for one more season and gives it another shot. The Pack played well and I think one of the biggest downfalls was not double teaming Burress. I knew Al Harris couldn't couldn't cover him. Harris is slightly "overrated" in the sense that he's a solid DB but the announcers make it sound like he can go one on one with the likes of Moss, T.O, and other speedster receivers (but then again who can).

So break out your Giants Blue RO and help us knock of the holier than thou Pats!!! :D
