I live in GA. The BAC limit here is .08g.
I assisted another officer on a traffic stop about a year ago. I stood by while he conducted SFST and made the arrest. As he was transporting the driver to the police dept, he radioed me that another vehicle almost hit his patrol car.
I caught up to the vehicle and stopped it. It was a guy I went to school with. I called him by his first name and he denied that being his name. He gave me a birth date that would have made him 19, although he was my age. SFST was conducted and I allowed him a turn on my Alco-Sensor, which registered .05g.
I asked him, again, to confirm his name, and he insisted that he gave me the correct info. I patted him down and found his ID (which was suspended from a previous driving incident I had with him about a year before that, we got into a car chase where wrecked by flipping over in a ditch, then told me at the hospital he was not driving). After finding his ID, he had the nerve to tell me that was his twin brother.
All this being said, apparently someone saw him and called the owner of the vehicle, who showed up at my location. Guess what his name was?
Anyway, the guy was taken to the police dept and charged appropriately.
