I'm confused. First question is how you expect to receive any information when you're first post looks like it was written by a first grader.
2nd question: How is it non para-military, and what distinguishes it from, oh let's say, south bay regional public safety training consortium?

Because it is short and sweet, how is it written by a first grader? I dont need to BS around and write a bunch of stuff thats not needed nor do I need to have my writing abilty judged by you. Im sorry if my post is not up to your standards, but it is not like I am in my English lit class at HSU so cut the crap.
Non para military is just the way the academy is run, No yelling, no military like structure, less focus on PT and more on academics, more of a college setting.....or so I have heard
IE why I asked if anyone had experence with this academy!

What is "jerk"ish about my posts? im just fighting sarcasm with sarcasm! I thought we had thick skin here?
All I wanted was a bit more info then what I have! :)
Thanks, stay safe

The only stuff I know about that area and school:
1. Good cases involving COR "students" can be made for many things at the boat launch area about 2 miles from the school at the south end of the bay and the South Spit...;)
2. Humboldt County is the only place I have ever worked that the pothead asked if he could have his dope back. Medical marijuana be damned, I ain't a pharmacist!

Because it is short and sweet, how is it written by a first grader? Your lack of correct grammar and spelling. This isn't a teeny bopper SMS chat; proper use of the English language is required here just like in your police reports. Nobody is perfect but a simple effort is required. If you want to cop an attitude with the people who offer you advice we can speed your transition to somewhere else.

I would love to take to heart any advise I get here but I have yet to see a serious post on my question! Is this not something we can agree on? I dont mind jokes at all, in fact I encourage them, but their has been no advise worth noting except for your constructive criticism.
As for RT302
This area is so different from the entire United States that it blows your mind! Liberalism is taken to a whole new level here. How did you like working in the area? Whats you assesment of the area?
also
Im not sure if I am getting your College of the Redwoods student refrence?? I am not too familiar with the campus, I have gone to HSU my whole time up here and have only been on the CR campus a couple times. So you will have to go into detail for me. Thanks Stay Safe!
I don't know anything about it, but I think the stress and PT are important.
This job is just as physically demanding as it is mentally. Here, your life can depend on how well you are physically fit. You must learn to multitask while under serious stress.
While only 1 percent of the time will you need to do four things at once and be under extream stress at the same time, it DOES happen. The high stress academies help you in preparing your for it.
The only people who probably don't need the stress are those who have been in the military, preferably enlisted. The Marines in my academy class didn't seem to break a sweat half the time when the RTOs were yelling and we were pushing...

Man what a great time! I am having a blast and really enjoying myself. We start DT and Firearms at the end of this week. Everything up to now has been a piece of cake. I am in the top 3 in overall fitness and top 10 in academics! I have a couple of places that are interested in sponsoring me! I am really excited about one of them. Its a small little place up here in northern California but it really emphasizes some things that are important to me, crossing my fingers!!! 15 weeks to go......

Yea I just graduated yesterday. The class started out at 30 and dropped to 20 by the end. One peice of advise is, keep your head above water. Basically, even though it is not para military, as you can see, 10 people failed out or quit. Don't be lazy and always be on your toes because the unexpected will happen. Make sure your in shape too, because the physical training part will get you..Good luck

i hear oakland pd's academy is pretty good. however, i don't think you can go if you're a non-affiliate. i hear the alameda co. sheriff's dept. one is really good, and i think you can go if you're a non-affiliate. i hear there's a lot of running, using a lot of hills and stuff.
