I got my letter today for Emergency Telecommunicator job. It pays pretty good. About $16.00 starting out and goes up to around $20.00 per hour in 3 or 5 years or something. I love the area and I decided to drop my application for 911 off there. Also applied for Sheriff Deputy too. They are reviewing my application on that one.

Anyone know anything about the department up there?

I go Sept 26 at 330pm to take my test. Pretty much just vocab, spelling, reading comprehension common sense crap. No typing test which is odd but its all good.

Well, we've all seen your posts so maybe this job just isn't going to work out for you, I'm sure someone else will be hiring.

j/k:D, good luck. That's a nice area up there.

Jeez.. starting at 16 p/h? After our last raise this summer we're making 13.65. I feel cheated. :p I fully doubt that we'll ever see 20 p/h in my tenure here.

Yeah its pretty good. Although there is a higher cost of living up there

I just seen the fire department (Peninsula Township-the peninsula north of TC) was hiring for Firefighter EMT so I'll be sure to apply for that 30k a year. Not great not bad

Kingsley is a small town but the cost of living isn't bad. They have excellent schools too, if you're looking ahead to the future. No local Police there, but it's growing fast so that may be an option in the future.
