This is the first time I have ever had to call EMS to my residence.
In 24 years of LEO work, I have responded to assist EMS on a lot of runs.
But never for anyone from my family.
The wife had a second seizure on the way to the small local hospital.
They are transportating to a larger hospital for further tests.
She is now alert and awake.
The doctor doesnt think it was a stroke or heart attack.
My local volunteer EMS crew did a great job.
I am either way too young for this crap or not nearly old enough.
I definately got more gray hairs tonight.

Damn bro, I'm sorry to hear that. I hope everything ends up being okay.
Keep us posted with updates. You two will be in my thoughts! Hang tough.
Thoughts and prayers sent Kels. Good luck....I'm sure she will be fine.
A couple years ago I was on the other end of a EMS call. After getting home from work I got a kidney stone attack. My wife came home with me double over and not being able to talk. The local EMS guys were there very quickly and did a good job.

I'll say a prayer for your wife. Hope she is doing well now. My wife is recovering from a kidney stone which she needed surgery for. I've been on the other side of EMS between my wife and children. At least, they have respect for us when they are helping us out.

Hope your wife is going to be okay. I've had to call 911 a few times for my husband who's a type one diabetic...it's just plain scary when it's someone you know and love.

Thoughts and prayers for you and your family.
They brought her back to the local hospital last night.
She had a total of 4 seizures last night.
She hasnt had a seizure since 3:30 am on Sat (today)
The tests last night showed no heart attack or stroke.
There is also no bleeding on the brain.
That is very good news.
The bad news is they transferred her to another bigger hospital about
noon today for further testing. That hospital is about 2 hours away.
I am going down on sunday. The relatives will watch the boys.
I got to tell ya, THIS REALLY SUCKS.
Hang in there Kels. Hopefully they'll find out what's wrong and it's a simple fix.

kels, my wife is a type 1 diabetic with a host of other medical problems and yes seizures are one of them. It is kinda scary but a good Neurologist will find the cause and with proper medication the seizures will go away or become less frequent/severe. You and your wife will be in my prayers. Hang in there as you are not alone...you have an extended family pulling for you!
I went and got her from the hospital tonight.
They believe the seizures were from a lack of sodium
and potassium?. She was very low on both.
This is not as uncommon as you think, but is more common
in older folks.
Either way, I just glad she is home.:D

I hope all is well. The condition she had is something my Dad suffered from years ago. We also thought it was a stroke because of his symptoms.
Glad she's doing better and is at home. Seems like it something fairly simple to fix?

This is somewhat related, but occasionally I get really bad charlie horses (like a painful clenching of the calf muscle), and I've had many people say it's a lack of potassium. In a way it's like a seizure, but definitely not as bad. When I eat more bananas, I don't have them for a while.
That must have been scary. I'm only 14, but I'm lucky I've never had to call 911.
Hope your wife is doing well man. Glad to hear she was able to come home.

Kels,
I'm very glad to hear your wife is home, and that her diagnosis is good!
Potassium, amazing little mineral.
