With a little luck, and a lot of hard work, I hope to be in the field in about a year and a half. I did some research, and noticed that a lot of departments in my area does not have funding to supply firearms. I bought my own (a S&W M&P).
I would like to purchase a duty holster for this gun. The problem is, departments differ on what they want, whether it be nylon, basketweave, or leather for rookie recruits. However, it would be nice to get a holster early. I plan on getting a triple retention (Bianchi offers one for my gun), and would like to learn the retention system. The more practice I can get pulling it out, the better I will be in a stressfull situation. Should I go ahead and get it, or should I wait?
