Any other drummers here? I've been playing for about four years and loving it. I'm going to [hopefully] get a new cymbal stand for a splash cymbal I got with a multi pack of Zildjian ZBT cymbals, and just eventually add stuff on. My [drumming] videos uploaded to Youtube are horribly done and played. I'll let you surpass the bad drumming in those.

I've been playing some kind of drums (percussion) for about 9-10 years, and the drumset for about 7-8 years ;)

I've been playing the kit for just a couple years now and love it!

I've been playing for 20 years.:D
I've been playing since May 0f 98. I used to be involved in bands, giving lessons, etc.--but I've been out of it for a while. I do, however, occasionally play at church.
Here are a few pics of my last set (Yamaha Maple Custom). I took these for the Ebay auction that I sold them through, about 1½ years ago.

Awesome set! I've always been a sucker for nice cymbals, which you seem to have no shortage of! :D

Thanks! I like what you've done with your set as well. A lot of those cymbals were bought in pawn shops or over ebay. We'd buy cymbals for a really good price from pawn shops, I'd clean them up, play on them a bit then either sell them or pull another off and sell it instead. There's been a few changes to that kit lately, so I need to take an updated picture. I'm looking for the K hybrid to add. That seems to be the one I've been looking for all my life. :D

I just saw this post after checking out the new Pittsburgh kid.
I started playing in sometime in the last millenium. Around 1978 or so. Got my first set from Sam Ash around 1982.
.
I currently play a Roland V-kit. The middle model with the purple stands. I think its the Studio kit or something.

This is what I want outside of the acoustic kit I have. The Yamaha drums I posted are actually an older kit I picked up in a pawn shop and the shells appear to be mahagonay. I've gotten lots of compliments on the sound. The two smaller toms are actually after manufacture add-ons, so they don't sound as nice.
As far as drum history, I only started at about age 18. I wanted to start much earlier but I was forced to play the only insturment there was around because it was already paid for, but I made up for lost time once I finally got behind the kit and take advantage of every chance I can to play. Every styles, every time. =)

i played for several years then quit but I keep saying Im going to buy a new set. It was a great stress reliever. I used to be a Zildjian man but switched to Sabian before I quit. I do have a set of Zildjian hi-hats that have................Made in Turkey on them :D I guess I will die owning those babies

I've been playing since 1973. Done some recording and gigging. Influences: Danny Seraphine, Jeff Porcaro, Steve Gadd.
I'm using Remo Fyberskin 3 heads on the toms...gives them a real warm sound.

During highschool, I played post hardcore. After highschool, I played drums for smooth jazz music. Now, I play drums for church. I don't use double pedels anymore except for church services. I use a Zildjian Z custom crash, A Custom mastersound hi-hats, and a B8 ride. I use premier and pdp drums with a pearl piccalo snare. I started drumming in church and after I finished drumming postcore and smooth jazz, I find myself back in church drumming. Another thing, Aquarian superkick II, Evans Emad heads and bass drums were made for each other.:D

I learned my drums in church, where I'd sub sometimes for the sound man on band rehearsals during the week.

Been playing since I was 11.. I'm 40 now
Dabbled in just about every type of music.. including country.
Haven't played in about 8 months now, but last project was a funk / blues band. As for the drumset, using a Mapex M-Series with Aquarian heads for shows, and switch to Evans powder heads for recording. Sabian AAX and AX cymbals for everything supplemented with one loud-as-hell sabian crash.
I am going to be starting back up again with an "Industrial" genre type of band.. This ought to be interesting, being 40 graying beard, in a young man's game.. YIKES.
The pride and joy of my setup is my snare drum... 1971 Ludwig 14 x 6.5" all metal snare. Mapex snares are icky.

I drummed for 15 years. Got pretty good however selling a house and moving to an apartment sort of changes things. I miss it.

I've played for a few years now myself. I use an all black pearl set and absolutely love the piccolo snare. I played in a band here in Stillwater, Oklahoma that is about to go on tour this summer but I had to resign due to marriage! The wife isn't too fond of 4 hour practices 4 or 5 nights a week!
I really like Steve Gadd and Carter Beauford, but my favorite is David Garobaldi, who is the drummer for a funk band called Tower of Power.

I've been playing for almost 3 years now, only about 8 or 9 months on a set though. I can play a few tunes, I'm practicing getting my double bass good. You guys have some nice kits by the way.
