Well, passed all the first hurdles and have my first dept interview tomorrow at City of Ventura. Anyone have any general tips, or know anything specific about this department that they like to ask?
I have the same question for Burbank, that interview is next week.

Here's a tip: do a search of these forums for your answer, as this has been covered many, many, MANY times before.

Actually, I did a search and nothing on city of ventura or burbank interviews came up. I was asking specifically about those. I know the generalities already, I'm looking for specifics.
Though the ventura interview is moot now, tubed it with a bad start. Normally takes 90 minutes to drive to the ventura pd, gave myself 2 hours and 45 minutes (as much as I could give since that was all I could get off from work) and the holiday traffic took 3 hours to get there. So starting off 15 min late didn't help, and also put me in a bad state of mind.
Oh well, what can you do.
