This is for you guys in NY and LA. How in the hell do you guys find affordable, steady housing??? I was curious last night and couldnt find **** for beans house wise that wasnt out in the half mill ball park. Any ideas on housing around the city would be nice. But my main question is...how the hell do you guys afford housing in these areas? Thanks.

Most of us don't live in the city; we live in the suburbs outside of LA or in Orange County. A lot of that is due to house prices/rent, but a lot of it is because living in LA sucks. You can usually find nicer neighborhoods, with better schools and amenities, outside of the city.

Depending on how much money you can spend for a house or rent, you may live farther or closer to the actual city limits.

Like previously stated.....most of us (myself included) live outside city limits. Many live around Santa Clarita or Orange County. I rent so I don't know much about real estate costs except that it's really expensive. We do alright salary wise out here but I have no clue how NYPD recruits do it (I grew up in CT) so I know what cost of living vs. their salary is like.
