Yes, I've read the previous footwear threads but... I'm looking for a mid to low boot that wears like an athletic shoe. I wear plain clothes but still need something that looks professional and is functional.

I got into a foot pursuit Saturday night wearing desert boots and my feet were killing me the next day(Damn right I caught him...Not bad for an old man like me).

Black or brown is fine but I want something that can stand the rigors of the North Country and still wear like a sneaker...

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Look at either the Danner Striker GTX or the Magnum Viper Low Profile. Both are very good in my opinion. The Magnum is however a little lower (like a tennis shoe) and less expensive.

I wear the Bates Ultra Lites and they feel as light as the running shoes i wear off duty....and they have a zipper on the side. Never had any foot pain from them, either.
