I just found this forum, pretty neat. A place to finally share some thoughts in the law enforcement community. The sheriff dept that I am at has a number of them in their patrol cars. I deal a lot with the tech side of things so I was very curious on some of the problems in the equipment. I have heard that they have their problems sometimes. It doesn't give the best readings. It seems that the Kustom Golden Eagle is preferred. Just interested in people's inputs of what kind of problems exist in the both.

If you are a law enforcement officer of some sort, get verified as such on this forum. You will likely get a better response to questions such as this if you do so.

We have the new stalkers in several of our vehicles. I also prefer the kustom's. Although I do like the wireless remotes that came with the Stalkers. Hopefully Kustom has switched to wireless as well. The two old Kustom's we have still have cords and they're a pain in the a**.

I've your having problems with the accuracy of your radar, you need to have it checked. Either by comparing it with another radar and seeing if there is a difference in the readings or just have it calibrated.
There shouldn't be a difference in readings between two manufactures as they all operate on the same principals, only different wavelengths.
Most of the problems you're going to run in to with radar is either operator errors or cosine effects.
