My 1st semester is coming to a close and I have a GPA question.
I received credits for health and PE due to my DD214. When my cumlitave GPA is totaled will this count toward it? If so what grade? Thanks.

Hey mx,

From what I've seen about getting credit for military training, it's more of just a "pass" thing. Doesn't count toward your GPA, just towards your final degree.

I finished up my BS in Aviation Management while still in, and my GPA was based only on the courses I took from either the school I got my AA from, the school I got my BS from, or the schools where I was a transient to take some SOC classes to send back to the alma mater.

Depending on your service there may actually be somewhere online where you can look up what the American Council of Education (ACE) recommends for military training classes. (Like the naval services have SMART NAVY online, but I'm not sure of the actual web address.)

Hope this helps some... :D

I checked how my college handles this. You get credit but no grade.

Yep, just as if you were attending a community college and then transfering to a university in order to obtain a bachelors. You get a P or F, not a grade.

That's how we do business here, too. Transfer credits and Prior Learning Assessment credits (credits from relevant work experience accepted by the college for credit towards your degree) are counted as total hours attempted and total hours earned, but do not have quality points (i.e. A = 4, B = 3, C = 2, D = 1 and F = 0) associated with them, thus they do not affect GPA.
