Just wondering if any of the other BP guy's have heard anything about a new uniform?

I've heard that it's basicly the same shirt with sewn on badge and name tag, BDU style pants and nylon web gear. It would be nice if we could get the polo style shirts like Customs. But we only get the crappy stuff from Customs. Next thing we know were going to have to kennel our dogs as well.

Would like to see pictures if anyone has them.

Wouldn't it be ironic of the tag said, "hecho en México"?

Funny you should say that but I have several uniforms that say exactly that. Congress had to pass a law that said all USBP uniforms were to be made in the USA.

I saw pictures of the new uniforms. They’re BDU style shirts (tuckable) and pants. The badge and name tag are a cloth type, similar to the badge/patch on the new style Gore-Tex jackets. The new uni will use web gear (woo hoo). The uniforms have already been approved. They were to begin issuing them for F.Y. ’06, but ran out of money. So I suppose the new plan is F.Y. ’07. I think that part of the money problem was that some sort of an “initial allowance” was needed so that everybody could replace the existing uniforms with the new style. It’ll be nice to have BDU style pants and all, but I am most excited about web gear. That stuff is awesome.

No I think the problem is they are still trying to decide how to make our uniforms blue. As for the web gear, I have worn both and prefer leather. Just me I guess, chock it up to "oldguy" syndrome.

They (VF Solutions reps, and headquarters types) showed us the new uni's at muster a couple of days ago. Pretty nice. They hope to roll them out this fiscal year. The uniforms will show up on VF solutions, hopefully by Jan. '07, and when they do, you're athorized to wear them. Because there isn't enough money to give everybody an extra chunk of change for the new uni's they are going to allow two buying seasons before making the new uniforms the only ones you can wear.

Trust me they are trying!

I'd settle for just being allowed to do my job.

I gave up on that pipedream years ago...

Although I have to give credit to our midnight Rail VACIS crew, they pinched three "trespassers" a couple days ago. Obviously I can't give the details here but at least the machine works... third seizure/arrest situation so far!!

Hey guys. I'm new to the site. I have already been issued the new uniform. THey are BDU's. Two pocket top, so your expected to tuck them in. badge and name tag are swan on. And no more leather, gone to web gear. Its actually sharp looking. I'll try to post pictures soon.

WE'RE NOT INSPECTORS anymore!!! I spend all day correcting our own Officers who insist on calling us Inspectors, I have to remind them that we haven't been Inspectors for like three years now!!! :D

I will agree that I would much rather be wearing the green!!!
