I had a interview a couple weeks ago for a ranger position in one of my local parks. I think all went well. I was a little nervous being that I didn't expect for it to be a oral board interview as I entered this tiny room big enough for 4 officers and myself. If you stood up you had to lean over so your head didn't hit the ceiling. Was my first interview like that. But anyways, after the interview they had told me that they would let me know either way. My interview was on the the 14th of April. I hadn't heard anything since and emialed the director of parks to inquire about the position. She had told me that no decision had been made yet and again they would let me know. Well, it's been almost 20 days since I last spoke to the director. I'm not sure whether I should give up on it and move on. Being that they said they would let me know, it's been almost a month since my interview. Maybe I am impatient, but outlook is not looking good. Maybe they forgot about me or does the process really take that long. I am pulling my hair everyday when I check the mail and answer machine to see once again, no letter of rejection or call for acceptance. Any advice?

Waiting is the name of the game. Next month will make a year since I originally turned in my application for the department I'm trying to get hired with and my background check hasn't even begun yet. Assuming I get through the BI, I still have the psych and medical tests to go. Don't feel too bad.:D

Patience is part of the process. They went to a lot of trouble to take your app and do the interview because they NEED to hire someone. They didn't forget about you. Just chill out and wait until THEY are ready to call you.

I guess I am a little over zealous. It just sucks being a sitting duck. I guess I'll wait and hope for the best and expect the worst. I let you guys know if all ends well. Thanks for the positive feedback.
