Just curious, why you guys make/collect model police vehicles. Do you like the police graphics and lights on any vehicle? Or do you like the police stuff on a particular vehicle like the Ford CV or Dodge Intrepid etc??? Or do you make what you drive for a living??? For me, I'm in a totally unrelated field, but I love police cars, especially lately the Charger and Magnums. A good Impala, or CV is pretty good, and of course, I love the truck/SUV side too.:)

Pug,
I'm a French avid collector of American/ Canadian police cars and in fact I don't know why I think it's a whole combination of things .

I am working on modelling my own patrol unit. I enjoy doing anytype of model in general, but with police vehicles, it's fun to create real police units or ficticious ones. Happy modelling:)

I like your US Customs & Border Protection SUV... one question however, what is "Tactical Force Unit"? I've never heard of that.

Chewy,

By the way does exist an emergency response team car or something like that ? If so I'm interested in its picture I could ( or try to ) make it..
Being unable to make my own decals I use what I can find only

I love your collection.......great variety, and since I live in Canada, I like all the Canadian agencies you've got:) Do you make your models or have you been buying them from ebay etc?

No, I'm not aware of any emergency response team cars... we have teams but they just use the regular cars. Miami has a Hazmat responce team with trucks but I don't think they are seperatly labeled.

The gallery comprises mainly my own custom cars. I barely buy custom cars but I bought a lot manufactured cars all scales all brands !!
By the way I'm looking for the cars made by Hetterich those are beautiful tiny cars ( 1:87 scale). I've got over 2500 US / Canadian replicas.
And my favorite cars are the US et Canada customs replicas may be an obvious connection with my job !!

I have always liked cop cars. For a couple medical reasons I can never be one, even though I'd wanted to be a cop since I was 5. My latest addition to my police car collection (small part of my entire diecastcar collection) was Sheriff from CARS.:D I may get Lightning someday also.

I have used Policecarmodels.com many times. They have things that you just can't find anywhere else. It's a source for many things you will need to build and modify police cars. I'm not trying to advertise for them, just saying they are a good resource for decals and parts. :)

I think most kids think police cars are cool when they're young, and some of us will still like toy cars no matter how old we get!
BTW, nice pic of the bath police! :D

I think a lot of us have fascination with the police car for several reasons. First it's a job of authority, most of us respect the police and everyone dreams of a job where you can turn on the lights and sirens and speed through traffic while everyone moves out of your way. Second, they use very powerful vehicles like the Charger, Mustang and Camaro. When I see a law enforcement agency with a car like that I get excited to see what toys they have inside and under the hood. Regal cars like the Crown Vic, Impala, Suburban and Tahoes, which are beautiful in their own right but not anyone can afford the price to buy one or pay for the fuel (So could this be jealousy too?)! . Lastly...Sign Makers and decal technology has advanced so much that a lot of these police vehicles are works of art ! Not just Text and a Star but Flags and full Color crests, eagles and all sorts of incredible artwork. The Police Interceptor has been turned into a canvas to create awareness and adds a splash of color adding great personality to the Police agency.
But mostly my interest in Police Cars stemmed from my childhood. I had an uncle who worked for the Oceanside RCMP Highway Patrol unit on Vancouver Island. My family lived a few miles out of town so I was a bus kid. But once a week, when he finished dayshift, he would come by the school and pick me up in his shiny blue 1985 RCMP SVO Mustang or a Camaro Z-28 Interceptor and take me home. (I'm probably giving my age away) We'd go for ice cream and he'd show me all the gadgets in the cars and what they did. When I was new in school it was a great ice-breaker in making friends. I never forgot to thank him for that. Each year I build a diecast for him for Christmas. He's retired now, but he's kept every car I built for him in a glass case. There must be 20 of them in there now. Like I say, for some this hobby is really something special...for me it's fun and it brings back a lot of cherished memories.

Just curious, why you guys make/collect model police vehicles.
I wanted a nice 1/18 scale model of the 2000 Crown Victoria Police Interceptor in Cincinnati Police markings that I actually drove at work as a momento...so my wife (bless her heart) ordered a custom model from Code 3 Customs. The model is about 95% correct and that's good enough for me. :)
This is the model...

Not a bad facimile. I think every officer likes to have his car made. Brings back memories in the future and makes great conversation piece. One time I made a personal U.S. Postal Police Blazer for a friend. He brought it to work...and said he was going to sell it as I had made some extra decals for him to make his own. It resulted in literal fistcuffs over who would get to buy it...they went "Postal" on each other because he unit happened to be from thier district !

BTW, nice pic of the bath police! :D
Clearly someone is drowning, and they rolled Code 3 to the bathtub to save the person from imminent death. When they arrived they found a Giant and fled on foot in fear.
I've wanted to start a collection of police models for a while now, I feel like there are so many other things to send my money on. Such as but not limited to : A real working full size vehicle.
