Another worthwhile student group to join is the American Criminal Justice Association (AKA: Lambda Alpha Epsilon). Joining this group can be positive for three main reasons:

1) If a chapter exists at your college/university, you can interact with other CJ students in a combined social and academic setting.

2) The organization puts on national and regional conferences of interest in the criminal justice work field that may prove education and fun for CJ students.

If your college/university does not currently have a chapter for this organization, you and four other CJ students can start one (see here for more details: http://www.acjalae.org/chapters.htm), or you can be a member-at-large.

Good information ROS. I looked into this LAE organization last year. If you are unable or unwilling to start a chapter at your school, you can become an at-large member and still attend the conferences and events.
