It's also kinda funky when they get near your elbow! Very weird sensation jolts through your whole arm.

Exactly how I feel. I'm looking to expand on a few that I already have since they look pretty plain without a nice background.

I have been trying for the longest time to figure out how to compliment the snake on my right shoulder. It's just so small now, in comparison to the flag and eagle on my left shoulder. No one seems to have a good idea as to how to expand it and keep the meaning.

I think I am leaning to some kind of short sleeve now... just the upper right arm around the snake... maybe I'll just let the tattoo artist go wild. :)

Looks like it would be about 3x4 or so not sure would have to play with it.

Do I just take it in to an artist and they come up with a sketch or how does the process work.

I am not keen on getting something that apparently LE tattooed on me.

Anywho... I would say that it would likely go in the $300-$400 range.



...on a side note, I may have pics soon of a new tattoo that I am getting. I may get it done tomorrow, if the sketch is done. It'll likely take a couple sessions, though.

It's going to be a cover up...getting a male lions head (4x6 maybe)...love what the lion represents...and my dept has 3 lions on our badge. After this tattoo, I'm going to get a female lion near it...I might, instead of portrait style, to do the statue from the NLEOM. Haven't decided yet.

Ok... I just got back a few minutes ago. It only took 4 1/2 hours to complete, but my newest addition is done.

I've also included pics of my other 2, as they were deleted from the server during some house-cleaning.

The top one is my first one that I got on my rght shoulder about 4 years ago.

The second one I got last summer on my left shoulder.

Finally, today, I got moreon my right shoulder. It was looking small compared to the left. :) It's not as orange as it appears in the pic.

I don't do overtly LE. Also, all of mine can be hidden with a short-sleeved shirt. Finally, there is no policy against them in the USMS. I could have them visible without problem.

I'll take a picture of mine later and post it... maybe tonight yet. It was kind of neat because being that we got married in Scotland and her family is Scottish and mine Irish we decided to get a Celtic weave around our ankles ending in a Knot at the outside edge. She got a Scottish blue (actually ended up being kind of turqious blue but oh well) and mine is a nice emerald green... Of course this means that if we ever split up that I'll have to "disappear" her body as we are now bonded together forever :D

Does "Celtic weave" translate as "dolphin and rainbow"?

That's a cool idea (since I'm a Ford guy). Double 'Blue Ovals'...one for each forearm...BAM-BAM!!!. I'll mention this to the wife unit...she's picking out the tats that I shall receive.

the HP didnt have a policy until my buddy left to rejoin the service. He had sleeves and all. The day after he left out came a policy. We named the policy after him.

Heh, it ain't. I'm ugly enough as it is to not have to get tats to make it worse.

How long has it taken you so far?

Well, the bicep, forearm and elbow were done in about 3 months or so. You really need a couple weeks between sessions (each of which has been about 4 hrs or so for me). The took 4 sessions to complete.

Now, in addition to that, the upper arm and shoulder were about 11-12 additional hours. These, however, were spread over a couple years.

Naw, even when I was young and drunk I couldn't find anything I wanted to live with for the rest of my life. When I was in the Army, I went into parlors several times with friends who got one and I was thinking about it. But although I saw some stuff that really looked cool at 20 years old, I wondered if I would if I would feel the same at 50 so I passed.

Besides, I have an addictive personality and I think getting tats can be addictive. My stepson got covered with them in his punk rocker days and now at 30 has trouble getting through job interviews. But even though he knows they cause him some problems, every so often he gets another.:confused5: After he got his last one (on his neck) I told him that I didn't want to hear his whining about how people judge him before they even know him....

All that being said, I also have the philosophy that what other people do is none of my business as long as it doesn't affect me..........:wink: And I've seen a few that I thought looked pretty good, but they're just not for me. Everyone else, enjoy.....:thumbsup:
