About a week ago, I got upset at a police car for zooming passed me without his lights on. It was a 30 mile an hour road and the cop was going at least 50 mile per hour. Because of this, I flashed my lights at him.
After I did this, he pulled over before the building I worked at and opened his door without his police lights on. I thought it was nothing, so I pulled into the parking lot at work and then I see the police car following me without his police lights on. He stopped behind me, got out of his car, and then shined a flashlight on me. I was scared to stop, so I drove passed him and left since I thought he was only to give me crap for flashing my lights at him. I drove around 5 blocks and then came back to work. I then saw 2 police cars waiting for me right around where I work!!! I was scared, so I went home and didn't go to work since I was scared.
Why would there be 2 police cars for what I did to the police???
Why would he NOT have his lights on and tell me to stop???
Would I get in trouble for this???
Thanks for your help :)
You obviously knew he to talk to you, so by leaving you would be committing a felony in my state. He doesn't have to have his lights on, all he has to do is be in a uniform.
If you were approaching an Officer directing traffic, would you not obey his commands because he didn't have a car?
Chances are, he's got your license plate. Your best bet would be to contact the Police and see if they are looking for you. Otherwise they may just get a warrant and arrest you at work.
What you did was really stupid. If he was responding to a silent hold up alarm, do you think it would be wise to run lights and siren so he can turn it into a hostage situation? If you have a problem with an Officers driving, call the PD and speak with a Supervisor. Don't flash your lights at him and make him think you may have an emergency.
Why was there 2 police cars? Probably because they were going to arrest you.
Why didn't he have his lights on? Probably because he wasn't obstructing traffic and felt they didn't need to be on.
What trouble would you be in? Depends on the state. In Indiana you would be looking at prison time for Resisting Law Enforcement in a Vehicle.
