I just bought my ASP Federal Baton (you know with the rubber handle) along with an ASP Sidebreak Scabard. Problem is, the rubber from the baton makes it almost IMPOSSIBLE to remove the baton with one hand. It just grips the plastic WAY too well.

Does anyone know how to fix this?or should I just look into getting a different scabard?

Any help would be appreciated.

THere should be a tensioning device...its adjustable. Look at your directions, there should be an allen wrench with it.

MCSD, I am in the same boat. Mine (which says series 26a) actually released ok the first few days but has since become almost impossible to remove without two hands. The only adjustment I see is to clamp the holster to the belt. There is no adjusting screw to vary tension on the cad colored retaining leaf spring......I am getting close to disassembling and bending a little tension out of that retaining spring.

I just took mine apart tonight and figured a few things out.

The tension screws are the 4 on the back just below the belt clip. You have to losten all 4 in order to release a SMALL amount of tension from it. Since i didnt feel like having my scabard fall apart in the middle of a struggle, or break off for no good reason, I just bent the rentaining spring a lil bit till it was where I liked it and then screwed the back plate back on nice and tight. Works like a charm now. Not too loose but I can get it out quickly with one hand.

Thanks for the advice guys. Even though if I was half as smart as I claim I am, I would have read the directions to begin with. Then again, they are directions and I am a guy.

That little Alan Wrench in the belt clip is pretty nifty too.
