There's just a smell in the car she drives, the room she's in, that damn near drives me mad!! I can tell she's been in a store up to 34 minutes after she's left. (we've timed it in Wal Mart actually, in the pharmacy dpt.). I can smell her everywhere I go that she's been. I've been married over 6 years and can still tell the last time she drove my car instead of her own. I was curious if this is all pheremones or what. I'm not complaining, I can tell how much money she spent by going to the mall :D But you know what I mean. Does this carry over into LE?

I'm not joking. They've done studies with monkeys. After they put the females on hormonal contraceptives the males lost interest and began homosexual activities. When the females went natural the males became interested in them again. That stuff affects her and you. I've been on both sides of the fence and I can tell you from first hand experience it affects you both. We'll never go back. She is healthier and much more interested in it and I am affected similarly as well. Without getting graphic I'm tuned into her and my body knows what's going on with her. Look at all the kids I have.

I know more babies from pill and condom failure than NFP method failure (and being in the community we are around a lot of NFP people.)
The sympto-thermal method of NFP (basal body temp, cervical mucus, and cervix) has a 99+% method effectiveness rate, with a 90-98+% use effectiveness rate. --Frank-Hermann, P. et al, Advances in Contraception, 1997, 12:179-189.
NFP methods relying only upon cervical mucus observations have a method effectiveness rate of 99+%, with a use effectiveness rate of 85-98+%. --Hilgers, T.W., et al, Journal of Reproductive Medicine, 1998, 43:495-502.
The Pill has a method effectiveness rate of 99%, with a use effectiveness rate of 92%. --Planned Parenthood
Method effectiveness rate--rate of pregnancy when method is followed perfectly
Use effectiveness--rate of pregnancy when method is used in "real life," which includes chance-taking, carelessness, and misunderstanding of the method
NFP has similar or better effectiveness rates as the pill but none of the harmfull side effects and abortifacient qualities.
Condoms fail to prevent pregnancy up to 15% of the time, even when used correctly.
http://www.osv.com/periodicals/show-article.asp?pid=985
“When used to avoid pregnancy, [the BOM, Billings Ovulation Method] is safe and reliable. It does not affect the normal menstrual cycle, human health and sexual life. Since it is easy to learn and convenient to manage, it can be adapted widely, as it is not limited to cultural levels and/or different occupations. Because it has no contraindications, side effects, and requires no government investment for manufacturing contraceptives and devices, etc., it is a very good method which benefits the nation and the people.”
“Not long afterward, a further instruction came from the government that when the couples were being instructed about birth control it was compulsory for the BOM to be presented to them along with mention of some of the other methods.”
“We are confident that the BOM will soon become the method of choice in China for the postponement of pregnancy,” It's highly unlikely that a government like China with it's population concerns would endorse any method with the failure rates sugested by critics.
A letter to the editor from my wife who is the real expert:
To: 'speakup@billingsgazette.com'
Subject: Letter about birth control article
Dear Editor:
I am writing in response to the article titled, "Many forms of birth control available," written by Dr. Hanly Burton in the Sept. 28 issue.
Dr. Burton states that "Unreliable methods of birth control abound. Natural family planning, also known as the rhythm method, does not have a good success rate for preventing pregnancy." First, natural family planning (NFP) is NOT the rhythm method. The rhythm method has a high failure rate because it is a "cookie-cutter" approach to fertility and every woman's cycle is different. Modern NFP techniques, however, work by having a woman observe and interpret her individual fertility signs such as changes in body temperature and cervical fluid. The two most common NFP methods--the sympto-thermal method and the ovulation method--are up to 99% effective in helping couples avoid pregnancy, according to the World Health Organization.
In fact, NFP is so effective that the Chinese government declared in 1995 that it must be presented to all citizens as part of its compulsory family planning instruction. There are currently more than 50,000 Chinese instructors teaching NFP and nearly 4 million couples using it to avoid pregnancy with an overall success rate of 98 to 99 percent. Just this month, governments in India and the Phillipines also declared their intention to promote NFP. The citizens of these nations have serious reasons to limit family size. It is doubtful that their leaders would endorse NFP if it were the unreliable family planning method Dr. Burton stated.
Publishing erroneous information about NFP does a serious disservice to women and couples who may greatly benefit from it. In my 20s, I suffered terrible side-effects on the Pill and Depo-provera because I was unaware that there was an effective family planning alternative. Then I learned about NFP and within a few months, I had lost weight, shaken my chronic irritability, and regained my libido. I was so grateful for NFP that I became an NFP instructor in 2004.
Such side-effects are commonly experienced by those who use hormonal contraception and that these agents are contraindicated for many women. In contrast, NFP can successfully be used by any woman of any age at all phases of her reproductive life. Because users chart their individual fertility signs, NFP can be used regardless of cycle length. It also can effectively be used during the post-partum period, while breastfeeding, after discontinuing hormonal contraception, and during premenopause.
If your readers would like to learn more about NFP, they can visit Northwest Family Services' website, www.nwfs.org. The organization even has an online NFP course for those interested in learning the method outside the traditional classroom setting.
