It's that time of year again and I need to find a new winter jacket. My last one was a bulky spiewalk that I was a little less than impressed with. This time around I am doing my research and looking for a decent waterproof/wind proof jacket that can withstand New England winters. My explorer post does not want to foot the bill for our jackets or boots this year, so I am free to choose my own. :D Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I'm not sure if you are looking for a jacket that you can wear on duty but if you need a good jacket I suggest Carhart jackets.

I don't think Carhart makes a patrol jacket. Our dept. has moved to buy patrol jackets from Northface. They make hella good jackets and these are very warm(hey it's Alaska) without the bulk. They are also a bit cheaper then the Spiewalk brands.
