Okay, I was in a car accident a hour or so ago.
Situation.
When I slowed to make a turn the driver behind me failed to slow and plowed into the rear of my car.
I was unable to find my proof of insurance (I am insured), so I received a citation for "Financial Responsibility." The officer told me to just show up in court with proof and the Judge would drop it. My Marine Recruiter (Whom I was going to meet) told me not to worry about it. So I'm not.
My question: Will this citation appear on the Top Secret BI that I will be undergoing in the next few months? What should I do concerning this?
I'll ask my Recruiter about it when I talk to him tomorrow. Just looking for any other advice.

It will appear on your driving record. It will also show "not guilty" so you will be fine.

I'm assuming it was in TN so I feel I have some good input. Go to court on it and bring your proof of insurance. I have arrested too many people for driving on a suspended license that had no idea their license was suspended. And most of those cases the reason listed was "failure to provide financial responsibility." They may have gotten a ticket because of proof of insurance, and may have even paid & sent it in, but just to make sure, I would go to court with my copy.
It's a non-moving violation so I'm 99% sure it will not be on your traffic history when ran through the system, but disclose it to your BI anyway.
My advice, go to court and show the insurance just to be on the safe side. It will be dismissed when shown to the judge.
