I am applying for a non-sworn civilian position with the local PD and am currently their top choice on their list. I have a polygraph on Tueday morning, and since I already turned in my PPQ, I remembered a couple minor things I forgot to mention, both related to MJ experimentation. One I already informed the BI, it was an sheer forgetfulness of my past, seems to be no biggie. The second thing I realized over this past weekend, and its a date change of my last marijuana use (I actually did use it once at least 6 months later than the date listed on my PPQ). So my question is, is it too late to inform the polygrapher during the pre-test of this date change? And how will it look to the BI when I forgot two things on the PPQ? I dunno about some of you guys, but I remember random things at random times. Like just this past weekend, I remembered I stole a pair of kiddie sunglasses from the store because my mom wouldn't buy them for me when I was like 10 years old, so I guess I have to mention that too. Ugh, the agony of awaiting to take a polygraph...

I'd call him as soon as you can, to 'me' it'd look much better on your charcter if you called him as soon as you can rather than wait till PG day and say oh whoops I forgot to tell you.

Hmmmmmmm seems like the MJ use may have caught up with you.... :p Like the others said just be honest and call him ASAP.

Ditto butter. Make sure the BI knows before the poly.

My problem is also that my test is at 9 am tomorrow, and theres no way I can personally contact the BI before the test. I prefer not to leave a message on his voicemail or send him an e-mail, I'd rather talk to him personally. So, does telling the polygrapher about a date change of 6 months or so really look *that* bad? I mean, I would tell the BI afterwards because he told me to call him. And would disclosing this info before the test DQ me from the position? I've been wisked through the hiring process (its been 1 week since my interview and turning in my PPQ, 2 weeks since I turned in my initial app), and things are happening so fast I barely had time to think about exact dates and such. Since I spent this past long weekend agonizing over the poly, I've had more time to re-think dates and my sunglass incident from when I was 10. So, am I a DQ? Thanks.

I personally had a few things I'd forgotten when I did my PHQ until the polygraph. I told the interviewer before we began and it wasn't a big deal at all. Just make sure you tell them up front rather than waiting to see if they ask you about it. Otherwise, it may look like you were trying to hide it.
