I post a police DT move every week (all free, don't worry...lol). Let me know if there is something in particular you would like to see.

I originally started due to requests from friends (all cops across the state of Florida). It was a private link but I decided to add it as a page. It makes it easier for them to find if they did not bookmark it.

For those who do not know me, Im Paul. I am a patrol lieutenant with a large agency in Florida (running on 15 + years now). I am also a DT instructor and mixed martial artist. I make my officers train and remain proficient in DT tactics on a regular basis. Nevertheless, this agency has many platoons and districts. Since we all have laptops in the cars with full Internet, this seemed like a good way to reach them all.

You're welcome. I hope you find it useful. Next week I will be posting a great sweep when a suspect tries to jerk their arm away during handcuffing. It is fairly simple to execute and I have utilized it with a 100% success rate on the street.

I hope thats a secured link for just LEO.... I would hate to see the bad guys learning how to counter our moves. Its bad enough we have to be careful when arresting, I would hate to try to sweep someone and them counter it, and take me for a spin.....

Good stuff Paul!

Would you mind posting future lessons in the secured access forums?

Yes, I can. I am still awaiting my access to the secured sites. I sent the required info to contact my agency. I am just waiting for the green light.

Actually, I have considered making it a secure link (requiring at least a registration). I may do that this week.

Hey, this is some good stuff. I'm gonna try it at the academy in a couple weeks when we start ground fighting. SPE, you probably know my academy, I attend one in Central Florida.

Then you will do the FDLE (Florida Department of Law Enforcement) standard stuff. Its very basic and the ground fighting is very, very limited. They also frown on any freelance stuff in the CMS Defensive Tactics course. LOL :D

Yeah, I can't even tell you how many times our instructors have openly told us "I hate CMS". With DT they really stick to the state standards.. They did tell us they showed us a couple things that weren't in the book. So I haven't been able to use any of my martial arts stuff I know while on the mat.

But for other things, our instructors really go beyond what CMS teaches. They teach us what we need to know for tests and for FDLE, and then go beyond and show us more stuff beyond that. I'm lovin' it. :D

DOH, I didn't even notice. PM DC Law with a contact number and he can verify you over the phone!

I had posted some thoughts on your vid in the secure area. Gonna PM you in a minute...

the problem isn't verifying the info, it's getting the owner online to activate the appropriate filters.

That is great. Thanks for the info, I think I'm going to go out to primary now and try to coax a driver into fighting with me so I can try it.

Very good training. The CG used to teach us very similar techniques. I'm sad to say CBP doesn't teach us good stuff like this, and with all the people we fight with they should. Thanks for posting it, I think I'll have to buy the DVD now and practice on my wife at home!

I get more calls from officers wives telling me to stop teaching them things for this very reason...lol.

Hi, seeings how im a DT's instructor as well, mainly through the ILEA under Dr. Paul Whitesell my instructor at the dept that im with, we tend to start w/the PPCT as our core or base curriculum however since most of that is very "basic" and is not that effecient in many cases, myself being a martial arts instructor as well and being in the arts for well around 20years I tend to take the basic ppct and combine my own expression of what i have found works well. Im a student under Will Higgnebotham 9th dan under GM George Dillman who is a master of pressure points and nerve striking. Also I am a Guro in Filipino Escrima/Kali tactical impact and edged weapons. I've found that the PPCT works well and goes hand in hand with these ancient martial arts systems. Im not here to reighn on your parade just to possibly offer a friendly hand or some extra advice if needed from time to time. Looks as if you have the basis covered though.

looking forward to some good stuff here..

Hey Spec, Welcome to the board! Out of curiosity, in which system of Escrima/Kali are you a Guro and whom did you train under?

Paul, good stuff on your recent updates!

Hello, hows it going? Im under Guro Bruce Ogle of the Indiana Kali-Silat Academy of Indianapolis, IN.

List of the people i've studied under in the FMA:

Bruce Ogle- Inosanto Kali
Kim Satterfield, Al McKluckie- Serrada Eskrima
Dan Inosanto- Inosanto, Largusa Kali, JKD concepts
Paul Vunak- PFS, Kali
Dion Riccardo- PFS, Kali/Silat
Kevin Schmidt- Amerindo Pentjak Silat
Herma Suwanda- Mande Muda Pencak Silat
Guru Mike Casto / Guru Ken Pannell- Sikal (Silat/Kali)
Steve Golden - Original Jun Fan Jeet Kune Do
Guro Buzz Smith - Marhalika Kuntaw
and really the list goes on but thats all I am remembering at this moment.

But heres a good website that explains alot on PPCT and DT's in case no one has seen this it's good for a refresher or anything else some good pointers and base foundation...nothing really impressive just the basis of DT's.
