Any other wives out there being driven totally MAD by small town politics and gossip?
Who says you have to be a wife to go batty over small town b/s? He said, she said becoming gospel truth. It's like I'm back in high school yet working as a cop, sometimes.:)
You're right of course about not having to be a wife to go nuts over this small town bull. I only specified wives because I posted it in this part of the forum. To be honest, the cops have it worse than their spouses because they are out there hearing almost all of it! I realize that the politics stess him out more than me, but it just kills me to SEE him so stessed!! Sometimes I have to fight the urge to do a "Harper Valley PTA" scene at a council meeting (which is why I don't attend them! ). I'm a good little chief's wife and keep my mouth shut. BUT GEEZ IS THAT HARD SOMETIMES! I'm curious resgrl, how small is the town you live in?
I work the entire county. Our most populous town is approx. 6500, the smallest isn't even big enough to be rated as a town. It has approx. 35-50 people. Fortunately I don't live in the county and only have to deal with it while on duty. If the feds could ever tap into the intelligence gathering capabilities of small town America, bin laden would've been found before 9/11.

I only like gossip when it's about me. It makes me feel good to know that if they're talking about me, then they're giving someone else a break. :p
