I just removed my Cat Stevens CDs from the rack in case I have to transport them to the trash can. I'm not saying "guilty", but I am a patrotic military member, ever cautious of those entering our country.
Need the whole story? http://news.scotsman.com/latest.cfm?id=3534743

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Former pop star Cat Stevens was deported back to Britain from the United States on Wednesday by U.S. Homeland Security officials who said his activities could be "linked to terrorism."
Stevens, whose name is now Yusuf Islam after he became a Muslim in the late 1970s, left amid tight security on a United Airlines plane from Dulles International Airport near Washington D.C., on a flight bound for London's Heathrow.

Soo..why are you throwing away his cd then? Simply because he opposed a war? He isn't anti-soldier. He donates a lot to good causes and promotes peace, so why the animosity?

Bad move. This will reinforce the idea that the US is becoming more and more insular. And its ally, the British Govt is apparently steamed up because there's no evidence about Yusef Islam being linked to terrorists. If this is a capricious decision taken by someone flexing their bureaucratic muscles without engaging their brain then it will have negative outcomes.
http://www.worldhistory.com/wiki/C/Cat-Stevens.htm <--- you'll see he had a change of heart on his original comments on the fatwa against Rushdie. I'd forgotten all about the fatwa too but it looks like he had a re-think (which is a good idea on his part).

I repeat, I am not saying he is "guilty" of monetarily supporting terrorism. However (coma) if there is evidence of him supporting terrorism...out go the CDs. That's all I'm saying. In case you haven't watched TV lately, a whole lot of muslims don't really like us. Matter of fact, they hate us. Some are open about it....and some are quiet about it. If he is one of the quiet ones, the truth will come out regardless. The FBI had him on a watch list for a reason. Think about it. Do you think the FBI is watching every single muslim that enters the country? No. Why single him out then?
Sorry, I'm pretty cautious after a bunch of muslims slammed some airplanes into NYC, DC, and PA.

I have some of his original LP's from the 70's, their future is awaiting the outcome of this story.

Hang onto them. I have a few of his vinyls and I am going to keep them. What I want is a Fahrenheit 451 type of situation where everyone burns their Cat Stevens vinyls in a stupid demo against him that is reminiscent of Nazi Germany in the 1930s (did they burn records by Cat Cohen back then I wonder?). Then when they are rare and desirable I will clean up :)

I was just going to say the same. Send them to me. I'll take them, just for the love of his music.
