You would think that Newsday could afford some editors.
read a dumb article here (http://www.newsday.com/news/ny-livit043694725mar04,0,1425421.column?coll=ny-news-wire-utility)
Quote:
The Bushmaster, a version of the military's standard AK-47 rifle, was the kind of gun they had in mind: highly accurate, extremely deadly from almost a half-mile away.
*snicker*
I never could figure out why the gun grabbers want to grab guns... Even though my NRA card is worn out and expired I still back ya Norm!

Argh. I couldn't even finish that stupid article. I am always amazed at the parallel universe that gun control advocates live in.
Wanted to add, I think this may be one issue that almost everybody on this board agrees on. Unless we scared the gun control nuts from posting anything :D
Well in the Clinton days I was also a gun grabber....
I grabbed all the guns I could!!!

I don't know...I think that it is a little scarey that anyone with a drivers license can walk into a store and buy a "Bushmaster: a version of the military's standard AK-47 rifle, highly accurate, extremely deadly from almost half a mile away." But maybe its just me.

ANY rifle is highly accurate and extremely deadly in the hands of someone who know how to use it. The assault weapons ban was only for those guns that "look" like assault weapons.

Oh. Ok, that helps somewhat.
Some nut could go on a rampage with a SUV or a baseball bat not to mention cans of RAID or something.

If you look at the numbers of drunk driving deaths, they should be doing background checks before you get your license or drink a beer!!!! Kidding of course, but it makes a good point.

In America, law-abiding citizens can own firearms. And few of these actually pose a problem with them. The problem is the small number of criminals who get guns illegally and use them and who don't get sent to prison for this because we have liberals who want to see them stay out in society.
Exactly.
Trust me...when I get the money...I will be right behind you waiting for my FFL too. :)

hope you got a commerical address to put on that application Jynkxxie, they've been cutting down hard on giving FFL's to citizens without actual businesses over the past 7 years or so.

Well thank God it takes me forever to make a decision then. Hell it is taking me long enough to get my semi auto...

Thanks for the clear explaination DC. It is a relief to know it is not that easy. Unfortunately there is probably no fool proof way of keeping firearms away from criminals who would use them for their purposes. But you have to take pity on the poor bastards and their unhappy childhoods. J/K :p
Watch The truth about 'assualt weapons' (http://www.flashbunny.org/content/assaultweapons.html)

I like it. Sounds very sensible. Better than any federally enforced mega billion dollar gun registery program.

Why is that joking? If it saves just ONE life, isn't it worth it?
