4 months ago I moved into a new apartment. A, so called, good friend
Noticed I didn't have a lot of furniture and offered to give
Me some things she had from her home. A bed spread, a couch, etc.
She even went out and purchased a few small items for my new place,
Like pillows and a shower curtain.
4 months later, she now wants all the gifts back so she can sell them in
A yard sale!
She's threatening to call the police as well.
Do I legally have to return any of these gifts?
And what exactly can the police do about it?
I didn't steal anything. She brought these items to me
as gifts because I needed them. We never talked about
This being a loan or any kind of repayment.

How about giving all that stuff back and buying your own stuff so you never have to deal with her again - or are you too cheap?

If I were called to this, I would inform you that this is not a criminal matter but a civil matter. Your friend would have to go through the proper process to begin a civil case for the property dispute(i.e. People's Court type stuff).

On a side note...you came into our house to ask a question. With that in mind you DO NOT get to dictate how the question is answered. Samuel gave you a viable option, but that apparently is not what you wanted to hear.

It may be beside the point, but its a valid question.

Regardless, it sounds like a civil issue involving her taking you to civil court, kind of like "Judge Judy".
