Hi,

I am a security guard in FL who works a few nights a week at a 'gated' (I say 'gated' because a flimsy piece of plastic is hardly a gate) community that only has a guard 8 hours a night. My question is can I legally bar someone from entering this community which has named roads and has another exit on one of the side streets which has a chain link gate that is chained and padlocked from the inside (meaning this community technically has a throughway for traffic even though it is blocked) when someone can just easily wait for the shift to end and the front 'gate' is locked into the open position?

Do the roads and streets belong to the community or the city/county or state? If they are private property, yes. If they are public roads, no.
