1. i'm about to put a dash cam in my front window and rear window of my car just for my safety. ie: car accident evidence. but i also have a white led light bar above my rearview mirror for car shows. i've never used them on the streets or even off my own land. is this all too much? i dont want to be accused of trying to look like a cop. they're not blue lights so i don't think it'd be considered mocking a cop.
2. Can I legally record with a security camera in my living room just for security purposes like someone busting through my front door? i have it up by the ceiling. Should i put a decal on my front screen door saying "By entering these premises you agree to be video and/or audio recorded"? Nobody changes clothes in my living room or anything like that. Right now its not even hooked up. I put it there to scare people.
3. When a cop comes to my house and leaves his car running. If I ask him to please shut his car off so it doesn't turn my green grass brown. Does he have to do so?
4. If i have a fenced in yard and a locked gate. can a cop jump my fence and walk through it? seems like they'd need a warrant? ie: if a call is made saying someones yelling too loud. do they have the right to cut the lock on my gate and then knock on my front door?
i've never been in trouble with the law. i'm just curious.
5. i traded a gun that i bought brand new. cheap hipoint $150 c9 9mm. the guy i traded it to is a friend so i'm not real worried about him killing someone. i know its possible. do i need an offical paper for him to sign saying he bought it or can i just write one up? does it need to be notorized? I know FL doesnt require registering a gun, but I know my name is on it since I bought it brand new and they had to do a background check. Or Am I wrong?
6. once my dash cams are installed. just for my safety, I plan to point one towards my drivers door window and record the cop talking to me. I'm sure you've seen the few dirty cops on youtube. Its just for my safety. I'm assuming its legal. Do I need to warn the cop that i'm recording? if so, can he tell me to shut it off? if i buy a dash cam that also shows my speed, will that help me with speeding tickets? i got one speeding ticket in the past and wasn't speeding like the LEO said I was. so I figured this would help but not sure if courts would even watch it.
7. back to the LED light bars. I called a LEO once..my neighbor a few houses down. But i didn't want to bother him again. I believe he said I can have white led bars in the front window. and amber in the rear. or is it either way? Is white leds fine in the back window? where does the amber leds have to be?
8. i know putting a tag on the wrong car and driving is illegal. but is it ok if it stays on private property? like i just want to put a tag on a old car i have so ppl think someone is always home at my house. if theres no tag then they will know its just an old junk car sitting there. might scare away thiefs.

1.) Having a light bar is a bad idea, but not illegal in my state. If you ever used it (white lights or not) and even one person believed you were a cop and got out of your way, you are guilty of impersonation here.
2.) I doubt that a security camera inside your living room is "scaring" anyone. Also likely not illegal provided people are warned.
3.) You can ask cops anything you want... there is no law, rule, or procedure that says they have to honor or comply with that request.
4.) If we get a call, we can enter the property to investigate the crime, circumstance, or incident which led to the call. They can't just walk into your house, but they can walk through the yard to the front door.
5.) You aren't required to do that, but it may be a good idea.
6.) That would be legal here.
7.) It doesn't matter what color they are (in my state) as long as they never get used on the road. But as previously stated, it's a bad idea.
8.) If you have the tag on the wrong car, then somewhere there is a car (presumably being driven somewhere) which does not have the required tag(s) on it.

Thanks.
4. What if you aren't able to climb over the fence. Can you cut the lock around the gate so you can enter the property? For a minor call, like a neighbor complaining that you're being too loud inside of your home.

Are you asking about if you had a giant privacy fence around the whole house secured by a locked gate?
No, probably then we would not climb or cut it for a noise complaint. But if we can substantiate the noise complaint, we will just mail you a summons and see you in court, because while an informal disposition can occur if we can talk to you (like simply asking you to turn it down), that option gets removed if you bar any contact.
So your plan could well backfire and make your life harder instead of protecting you from the police.
But it's your call.

Good point. Thanks.
About the tag, it's just an old tag of mine from 09. I was going to put it on a car of mine to make it appear as someone is always home.

I'm only replying to their immature posts to my thread. So make sure they also know to address me in a PM if they have a problem with me. (ie Mr. ::click:: above)

Good day.
That's been taken care of already, as a matter of fact.
The behavior of others has nothing whatsoever to do with your behavior. You work on you, and let me go ahead worry about what other people are doing.
The whole "But *he* did it too!" line being effective ceased to work once you stopped being five years old. We're adults here, let's all start acting like it, shall we?

Just my opinion, but the questions posed here seem disingenuous. Op, I recommend you seek your answers from an attorney. My intuition tells me that things for you could get real serious real fast.
Let me guess...
The car that you have this light bar on and want to put cameras in is a Crown Victoria, right???

No, not a crown vic or any car that's been used for patrol cars in the past.
Front camera would just appear as a GPS most likely. It has a flip down screen with a DVR.
I know the white LED light bar is legal in the front.. My question was are the white ones aloud in the rear of the car or do I need to switch to amber for the rear?

Yes it is legal to have in the vehicle, however, regardless of color it is illegal to use them so why have them?
I am allowed by law to have blue/red in my personal vehicle, the only time I have ever used them was when hurricanes Katrina and Ivan came through and we were allowed "furloughs" and my house was an hour away from my station.
So again, if I see no need for them (regardless of color) then why would a civilian "need" clear or amber?
Honestly, you are gonna get yourself in a bind, and no "video camera" in the world will help you.
