...would it be plausible to take her down to the police station? Here's the scenario: girlfriend finds murdered boyfriend. She freaks, calls the cops, cops get to the scene. I need to get her to the police station from that point because she has to see a certain character at the police station but I don't know why they'd take her there. I don't know much of anything about police procedure in these cases so any advice would be helpful. I'd like to make this story as realistic as possible.
Please and thank you,

Not only would it be plausible, it might be highly recommended. The girlfriend is the first and only material witness to the crime scene, and would most likely need to be questioned about quite a bit. The most reasonable place to take her for that would be somewhere definitely AWAY from the crime scene where she could be observed and possibly recorded. To me, it wouldn't be a stretch of the imagination at all for officers to take her to the station for questioning. It would actually be more strange if they didn't.
