I have a best friend who is 18. We talk all the time but we have never talked about anything bad or dirty. I am 14. We haven't kissed make out or even Hugged. To put it another way we have never touched each other. We Skype all the time and he do there for me and I'm there for him whenever we need help. He has helped through alot at school and it means alot. I consider him my brother and he thinks of me as his little sister. Protecting me whenever someone does something to me. We say I live you to each other but we both mean it as friends. My dad is upset because I'm talking to a guy who is 18 and he doesn't trust me. I want to know if it is alright that we are talking and hanging out as friends as long as we don't do anything bad. I dot want him to get in trouble for just talking to me.

Mind your parents.

I am not a parent but If I were my daughter would NEVER "hang out" with an 18 year old male or female. As a CHILD you can't understand what is wrong with your situation. As an ADULT and a MALE I can only wonder what the motive behind the "friendship" is. Why does a 18 year old MAN feel the need to be BFF with a CHILD? Why can't you get a BFF your age? Why can't he?

If it was a 18 year old MAN doing the same with a 14 year old BOY people (maybe even you" would assume he was a pedophile! Now imagine what everyone is thinking about you and him. I can understand why your parents are upset.

AND while it may not be illegal, if I found a 14 year ild girl with a grown MAN in a car "talking" or park or basically any "semi private" place I would assume the above and many phone calls and lectures would be done as well as giving you both the 3rd degree and calling your parents as well as placing "notes" in the computer etc.

Its good of your parents not to trust you. You are still a child. Also, as a male that was once 18 I can safely say that I know what 18 year old males think about and I wouldnt trust this dude either.
