So I applied to a city PD in NC back in 2009, of the issues brought up at the interview panel I figure I was denied because of one of two issues (specifically or why was not disclosed)
1. I had to account for unemployed time, which I did by documenting I was on unemployment. I started an under the table 10-15 hour a week job within the same month my unemployment ended in 2008. This was brought up during the interview and was a problem.
2. Last time I smoked Marijuana was in December of 2005, which I was 18, and unknowingly was given a joint which made my lip numb, and was told afterwards by the female I was with that it was probably laced with cocaine. Now..I've never even seen cocaine, much less used prior to that incident or since..but I documented it on my application in 2009 as if I knew exactly that's what it was.
I was denied and told I could never re-apply in a letter two weeks later.
Fast forward till now, I graduate in a week with my Bachelors in Criminal Justice, and I am set to undergo a background investigation soon along with a background. Now I accounted for my prior marijuana use in high school, but not the specific incident in question as honestly, I don't know what it is I smoked. I had it in my head all those years from the comment that followed, that that is what it was.
The second incident in question has not come up yet as I haven't been asked to account for my unemployed time, only my employment history.
Pretty much, how do I handle this? The background that is coming up is with a state agency.
