This video is over a year old, so many some have seen it. If not, give it a watch:

What disgusts me about this video is that (a) there are SOOO many people who liked it, and (b) there are SOOO many comments from people favoring the guy with the camera. It's ridiculous.

I'm all for US citizens knowing their rights, but this is going overboard. First off all, no one knows the context of the video, so it upsets me that the automatic response from people is that the cops were in the wrong. Which they weren't.

Here's my take on what happened:
If you watch the video in it's entirety you'll pick up on a few things. The primary argument here is that the police detained a boy (assumed to be a minor) and the man with the camera (the boy's father) is accusing the police of kidnapping his child. The man uses the word "confiscate" a lot in his arguments with the police, but a few minutes into the video you can clearly the police say they were returning the boy to his home.

The boy is probably a delinquent and was caught by the police doing something bad. So the police detained the boy, found out where he lived, and drove him home. No where in the video do the police imply that they were taking the boy FROM his home, so why the man kept arguing with the police about them kidnapping/confiscating the child is just beyond me. Even at the end of the video, you clearly hear the father call his son ignorant for getting in trouble.

It's just a disgrace on the man's part that he would act like this. He probably had one too many negative encounters with the law, so he decided to use Google as a weapon and look up a bunch of random law facts as if he knew what he was talking about.

I applaud the police for remaining so calm and patient during this situation.

Anyone who likes this video or the guy making it is just as retarded about the "law" as the videographer, who is so incoherent as to make absolutely no sense at all.

My take on the video is that this guy is some kind of sovereign citizen, although not a very well studied one...

Why is it a disgrace? As you stated in a different thread, everyone is different. If it wasn't for colorful people such as him in your life, who would you have to complain about? These are the kind of people who make our job so interesting!

I applaud the police for remaining so calm and patient during this situation.

I too applaud the police for remaining calm and professional, although that situation would have lasted about 30 seconds had I been there. Kid, out of car, Sir, there's your son, have a nice day.

Saw this one a while back. He definitely subscribes to the same tinfoil hat club as some of the Sovereigns do.

It's like a script with a lot of these guys when they start quoting "acting outside the [legal/constitutional/etc] form of govt," "color of law" (when most have no clue what that actually means - exemplified in this video), followed by "violations of international law," etc.

Most of the "likes" are probably from folks who actually think that he knows what he's talking about because he "sounds" like he does.

Dude's just annoying lol.

ROTFLOL-When the man filming the video turned the camera on himself I couldn't help but laugh aloud. Nice fez! lol... Completely concur with you Wolf-he's talking nonsense and thinks just because the officers are standing by not saying anything that he's won them over-wrong. He's an asshat.

I just posted this on the YouTube video comment section-

This man never owned the officers as was stated by a previous poster below-the officers were purposely staying quite for a reason. This man does not know the law and the United Nations would never back him up if they viewed this video-never! My suggestion to this asshat is leave our country if you don't like the laws-it's that simple. Stop wasting our officers time responding to your idiot rants and spend more time evaluating your current 51/50 mental condition.

What a nut case, the worst thing is that he will blame everyone but himself when his kid ends up in prison later in life. +1 to those officers that showed amazing restraint from saying everything I know they wanted to say.

I didn't watch the whole thing. But it never ceases to amaze me the stupidity of some people. Is it just me or does the louder a person yells and the more they repeat their ridiculous statements the less they actually have to offer to a legitiment discussion?
