My husband I recently noticed a large majority of vehichles in Las Vegas do not have current registration tags. We counted 20 out of 21 cars in a parking lot with expired tags. That's such a large percentage, there must be some logical explanation but I have been unable to find it. Can anyone shed some light on this mystery for me?

They may not actually be expired, they just may have not put on the new stickers. We can stop for it here but with in-car computers and such unless I want to dig I usually run it first to see if it's good. More times than not they are good but again if it shows expired they can still be stopped for it.
Here in PA many people dont put their new stickers on for unknown reasons. I know at times they will fall off but I think it's mostly laziness. Some even have it in the envelope from the DOT when you ask for their info.
Or maybe Las Vegas people are just rebels...

Is this a serious question or is this one of those let's think outside the box questions? Ok, the "parking lot" is actually an impound yard and all the cars were towed there...

That makes sense. Thank you for clearing up the mystery.

Colorado gives a calendar month grace period. So if I spotted a sticker today that read 3/12, its not legally expired until May 1st. Maybe Nevada does the same
