so lets say i know i person who goes to college in PA and has a fake ID, it has his real name on it and address and such because he didn't want to risk identity theft or something, but he was at the Liquor store on St. Patty's Day and it got taken by the cashier. They said they couldn't identify the hologram, and that if they wanted, they could have the police come down and check to see if its real. the person said no thanks, and they were allowed to leave, but the Wine and Spirits store kept the ID.

what are the chances that they turn it over to the police and that person gets in trouble/what would happen if they do that?

OMG! Somebody is in BIG TROUBLE! You better go and confess your sins before they enhance the charges!

Be Safe.

The odds are 50/50.

Either the store personnel will choose to call the police, or they won't. No one here has any special insight as to whether or not they will decide to do that.

Your friend is an idiot to risk getting a Misdemeanor 1 charge for Altered Documents , a PERMANENT criminal record just so he can get drunk.

You need a NEW friend or you belong in the same category.

Lucky you're not in Florida. It's a felony here.

FWIW, our state IDs have the state seal on them. When some makes a fake with the state seal, we tack on a charge of forging the state seal, which is a felony. I suspect your state has similar laws and cops who are just as creative when it comes to charging.

Nor was the lies to us that "lets say" or "I know a person" instead of just saying it was you! Otherwise your friend would be on here researching his own fate......

Guess that depends on which way you're looking at it. I like those kinds of arrests 'cause the report is SUPER EASY, I get a good stat AND another story to tell about how some teenager ruined his/her life thinking they know everything! :smilielol5:

Gotta wonder what their conversation as after that little incident.

"DANG!! Outsmarted by the 7-11 cashier again! I hope he doesn't call the cops."

Time to rethink your life when your nemesis is the liquor store cashier.

Actually, I'd bet the odds the cashier sells it to people who do identity theft are much higher than the police. The police don't pay as much. Your cunning plan to use your real name and address is going to make this more entertaining.

Let's cut to the chase, kid: you know that person because that person is you. If you want us to be straight up with you with our responses don't insult our intelligence by not being straight up with us on what happened.
