I still have both my U.S. Navy blouses and my Army class A's. I am not sure if I have a complete set of all my ribbons, but that is something I am going to rectify here via online purchase. I don't have any ribbons that require special documentation anyway, so it shouldn't be a problem to order from military clothing and sales.

Most proud of my Army Infantry Blue Cord, and 2 Navy and Marine Corp Achievement medals. My young nephew (10) has started a very impressive collection of our military family's uniforms from the different eras. He gets them pressed behind felt and plexi glass and hangs them in his room. He has both sets of his great grandfathers from WWII, my Dads Army, my sisters USAF, my Mom's utility jacket (its all we have of hers) and now he wants mine. I am proud to donate them to him, he is fascinated by Marines and it is all he wants to be.

I've kept all my uniforms from when I retired, basically 'cause I owned them. I had to buy our stuff once I became an Officer, no more hand outs. But then again, I've got some uniforms from when I was an enlisted guy too.

Unfortunately for me, NONE of them fit right now... :confused5: I just can't figure out why??

Good for your nephew!! He's purty smart to wanna be a jarhead!! Tell him I say "Oooorah!" to him and to keep on working towards his goal of becoming a U.S. Marine!!

Semper Fi!!

Mine might be in the attic somewhere, but I'm not sure. I haven't seen them in years, I might have either tossed them or lost them in a divorce. LOL.

I'd have about as much chance fitting into them as I would something from high school. I wasn't quite 25 years old the last time I wore them.

I found found my ribbons and medals a few years ago and gave them to my daughter to give to my oldest grandson someday. The only one I really cared about was the CIB. The rest were just for more or less breathing.

You had to be to play HS football back then.

Awesome goal. I had a buddy from high school, enlisted in Marine Corps and after two years they sent him him to "boat school" at Annapolis and after that they sent him to learn how fly helicopters. Retired a few years ago and is in LE (but not sworn, but I don't think it matters and I'm sure they all call him sir.). Helluva career both in, during and after. Not quite sure he put in enough enlisted time to be called a Mustang like marinepilot but they found everything in him that he could be and let him fill in the rest. And I'm not a LEO or Marine but they turn out some mighty fine people.

That's a lot big teams filled out with 25 year olds.

I kept my Coast Guard A uniform and my legacy Customs dress uniform... Doubt either would fit me now but...

Like RDS , I kept just my ribbons and all but one was for Advanced Breathing. I understand the Army just had the Regular Breathing awards. ( with a cluster) :)

coast guard was harder for awards than that. We didn't have breathing awards. Mine were for "oh, you actually came to work" and the advanced "you came to work even though it was snowing" award!

The Army is the absolute worst for decorations. If you are in a unit that did something heroic during the Spanish American War, you get to wear the award.

If I'd worn all the crap I was authorized to, I would have looked like a S. American dictator.

I have kept all my Navy uniforms...much to the wife unit's dismay since they take up storage closet space.

I was not highly decorated...so the medals/ribbons attained do not take up too much space...much to the wife unit's approval.

If they had a medal/ribbon for beer swilling (at the time)...I would have been highly decorated...and would have probably held many DoD records (for beer swilling).

I thought this was the swilling medal?

LOL!

Yes, that could be considered the swilling medal...as well as the debauchery medal. Unfortunately I was never in contention due to being a lower echelon "rotorhead" Naval Aviator and not part of the Tailhook Navy.

Just for the record, I wasn't there.
