Anyone have any experience or know of anyone going through the hiring process with Charlotte? I heard it was a very long process (around a year) Thinking of applying with Raleigh or Fayetteville as well...

A few years ago, I knew several officers that applied to CMPD, and a few who worked there. No clue what CMPD's current timeline is now, but I know that it used to be about a year process as you said.
Keep in mind that even if you're already BLET-certified, CMPD requires you to go through their training academy (unless you have already policed at another accepted LE agency - - and unless this requirement has changed recently).
It was also harder to get on to CMPD (with no experience) because a lot of agencies around it were freezing salaries, lowering benefits, etc. so a large number of LEO's migrated to it - plus the economy being what it was/is.
The best folks to ask are probably the recruiting staff off the webpage.
